Safest Route from Mumbai to Jammu without going through Chandigarg & Manali

Whats the Safest Route from Mumbai to Jammu without going through Chandigarg & Manali (Plese Suggest an Alrernate Route).

Pls share about Road conditions, Route Information & Share any Travaloges I you have been there & Done That.

The route am planning to take is
Srinagar to Pathankot.
Pathankot to Harayana.
Haryana to Udaipur.
Udaipur to Surat.
Surat to Bombay.

Am concerned about the route from Srinagar to pathankot. I have hear from some bikers about naxilate activities are quite common in this region.

Any Suggestions feel free to share.. Anything ll help..

Not very familiar with these routes...I think the Delhi n Udaipur guys can be of your help for these routes...!!
