Ramkunda Mahadev Ride, October 13th, 2024 – Rain, Rides, and the Aravali!
-
October 13th, 2024, will be a ride we’ll talk about for years. The night before had been a washout, and when we gathered at 6:45 AM, the sky was still pouring. But there’s something about the call of the road that can’t be ignored. This was our Morning Thump Raga (MTR), and rain or no rain, the Udaipur Chapter IBR was ready for whatever the day had in store.
There we were—Atul, Kuldeep, Abhijeet, Sanjay, Udit, and I —already drenched before we even started our engines. Conversations were all about visibility, whether it was smart to ride in this weather, and if we’d even make it. But after a quick moment of doubt, the engines roared to life, and we hit the road toward Ramkunda Mahadev. The ride? Epic. The roads were a mix of everything—a wet, slick highway, muddy off-road paths, and narrow village roads. It wasn’t just a ride; it was an adventure, each turn throwing something new our way. Puddles, slippery patches, and even stretches where the rain was so heavy you could barely see the road. But that’s what made it unforgettable. And then, the Aravalis… breathtaking. Even under gray skies and in the middle of a storm, those hills looked like something out of a dream. Mist-covered and lush, they made every soaked mile feel worth it.

It added a raw, unfiltered edge to the journey, as if nature itself was challenging us to go beyond our comfort zone. We were soaked to the bone, but there’s a strange thrill in riding through conditions like that, knowing everyone around you is going through the same thing and loving every minute of it.
By the time we reached Ramkunda Mahadev, we were drenched but grinning from ear to ear. The temple, calm and quiet, surrounded by nature, was the perfect end to our journey. Standing there, we took a moment to catch our breath and reflect on what we’d just pushed through together.
This ride was more than just a chapter meet—it was a reminder of why we ride. It’s not about the weather, the discomfort, or the challenges. It’s about the journey and the bond we share as brothers that keeps us coming back for more.
