Day 2 - Local site seeing around Gandhi sagar dam. Stay for the night

Day 3 - Return to Indore by evening

Highlights of the trip - Ancient Dharmarajeshwar temple (a man-made marvel), Hinglajgadh fort, Gandhi sagar dam, Back waters of Chambal river, GS Wild life sanctuary (if interested for a safari).

The area is forested and has some scenic spots. Spend the evening enjoying the company of fellow travellers.

All safety gears including helmets and shoes are compulsory.

1. धर्मराजेश्वर मंदिर भारत के मध्य प्रदेश में मंदसौर से 100 किलोमीटर दूर एक चट्टान को काटकर बनाया गया मंदिर स्थल है। यह परिसर अच्छी तरह से संरक्षित हिंदू मंदिर की विशेषता रखता है और एलोरा , महाराष्ट्र में चट्टानों को काटकर बनाए गए विरासत स्थलों से कुछ समानता रखता है।

   

2. अजंता-एलोरा की गुफाओं की तरह बौद्ध भिक्षुओं ने मध्‍यप्रदेश के धमनार (मंदसौर) में भी गुफाओं का निर्माण कराया था। धमनार में दो किलोमीटर क्षेत्र में 51 बौद्ध गुफाओं के समूह को अब पर्यटकों के लिए ओपन किया जा रहा है। 5वीं-6ठी सदी में इन गुफाओं को पत्थरों को काटकर तैयार किया गया था।

   

3. भानपुरा से करीब 30 किलोमीटर दूर गांधी सागर मार्ग अरावली पर्वतमाला तथा गांधीसागर वन्यजीव अभ्यारण क्षेत्र में स्थित करीब 10 वीं शताब्दी में बना चतुर्भुजनाथ मंदिर अद्भुत व ऐतिहासिक है ! इस नाले के रॉक शेल्टर्स में दुनिया की सबसे लंबी (लगभग पाँच किलोमीटर लंबी ) प्रागैतिहासिक कालीन शैलचित्र श्रंखला मौजूद है! जिसमें ढाई हजार से ज्यादा शैलचित्र मौजूद है,जो प्रागैतिहासिक कालीन मानवों की दैनिक जीवन क्रीड़ा प्रस्तुत करती है!

   

   

4. गांधी सागर बांध भारत की चंबल नदी पर बने चार प्रमुख बांधों में से एक है। यह बांध मध्य प्रदेश राज्य के मंदसौर जिले में स्थित है। यह एक चिनाई वाला गुरुत्वाकर्षण बांध है, जो 62.17 मीटर (204.0 फीट) ऊंचा है, 22,584 किमी 2 (8,720 वर्ग मील) के जलग्रहण क्षेत्र से 7.322 अरब घन मीटर की सकल भंडारण क्षमता के साथ।
