IBRMC Hyderabad - MTR - Bidar - 10th March 2024

We welcome all old and new riders to the MTR for March 2024. Bidar a city in the north-eastern part of Karnataka state is well known for its many sites of architectural, historical and religious importance. For this MTR we will be visiting the Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib and the Papnash Temple besides doing a bit of off-roading on the banks of Papnash Lake.

The Gurudwara is established in a nice valley, surrounded by laterite hills on three sides and was constructed after the independence of India in 1948, by the side of the spring. The water from the spring is collected in a small Amrit Kund (a holy water tank) built opposite to the front stairs of the Gurudwara. It is believed that a holy dip is enough to cleanse the body as well as the soul.

Papnash Temple is a Shiva Temple, and it is believed that the idol of the temple was installed by Lord Rama on his way back to Ayodhya. The original temple was lost and a new temple was built at the ruins of the ancient temple.

Eligibility Criteria: All riders from Main Group and Transition Group members who have attended rides in the past or new joiner's who have attended a monthly meet with IBR Hyderabad.

7:10 AM – Ride towards Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib (Bidar)
9:10 AM – Reach Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib (Bidar)
9:30 AM - Breakfast (near the Gurudwara Sahib)
10:30 AM - Shootout toward Papnash Shiv Temple
10:40 AM - Reach Papnash Shiv Temple, Explore Temple, Off-roading on Lake Bank
11:20 AM – Shoot-out towards Hyderabad.
2:00 PM – Disperse Point before Outer Ring Road Service Road
