@TheOne Thank you Bhau. Solitude has a way of revealing truths we often overlook in the noise. It's where the road and I truly connect. I'm glad you liked the clicks each one tells a story of the journey.
Good morning, Kodai, or should I say good evening? With the pitch-black darkness outside, my alarm clock ( 6 am ) seems to have lost its sense of time. Ah, the luxury of a rest day! I snuggle back under my blanket.
Ah, the fan fiasco! As I returned to my room last night, ready to lull myself to sleep with the gentle whir of a fan, I was met with a shocking realization – there was no fan to be found! In a state of bewilderment, I scoured the room, searching high and low for the elusive appliance. Where on earth could it be hiding?
With a perplexed expression, I marched down to the reception area to voice my concerns. Little did I know, I was about to become the subject of amusement for the hotel staff. Through fits of laughter, they explained that fans are as rare in Kodai as sightings of the Loch Ness Monster. Apparently, the cold weather renders them obsolete. But alas, my need for the comforting hum of a fan knows no bounds, whether it’s snowing, raining, or colder than a polar bear’s toenails.
With a resigned shrug, I accepted my fate. No fan? No problem. I'll just have to rely on my imagination to conjure up the sound of one.And so, with the memory of my futile fan quest still fresh in my mind, I rose at the crack of 9 am, ready to tackle the day's adventures in Kodai. Who needs a fan when you have the thrill of exploration to keep you wide awake?
After finally emerging from my cozy cocoon at a leisurely 9 am, I embark on my day of exploration. But oh, Kodai has a surprise in store for me – a thick blanket of fog so dense I could practically slice it with a butter knife. It’s 10 am, but it feels like the crack of dawn in Silent Hill.
Determined to brave the elements, I set off towards Kodai Lake, only to find myself in a game of hide-and-seek with Mother Nature. I ended up at upper lake view point. Where’s the lake? Where’s the view? All I find are souvenir shops and an endless supply of chai. Well, when life gives you fog, sip chai!
With my plans of exploring Poombarai and Kookal dashed by the foggy fiend, I opt to explore Kodai itself. Serendipity strikes as I meet Alexander, the king of banter and owner of a souvenir shop. We swap stories and numbers over chai and selfies, making the most of a misty situation.
Undeterred by the fog, I venture towards the Pine Forest, Bryant Park, and Vattakanal Falls, relying on blind faith (and Google Maps) to guide me. The roads, it seems, have a mind of their own, leading me on a merry dance through Kodai’s valleys and winding paths until, after a comedic 20 minutes, I find myself back at Kodai Lake.
Ah, Kodai, you may be fogged up and mysterious, but you’ve given me a day of laughter, chai, and unexpected adventures. Until tomorrow, when hopefully the fog lifts and the unicorns reveal themselves.
@TheOne Boating nahi karne ka is baar !!!
With Thandikudi's tranquility still echoing in my mind, I eagerly set off towards Kodai, brimming with excitement for the adventures ahead. The misty mountains seemed to beckon me forward, promising a journey filled with magic and mystery.
The lush greenery of the surrounding coffee plantations enveloped me, creating a sense of tranquility that was both invigorating and soothing. The mist danced playfully around me, teasing glimpses of the breathtaking vistas that lay beyond.
Despite the allure of the road ahead, I found myself stopping time and again to soak in the natural beauty that surrounded me. Each passing moment felt like a gift, a chance to immerse myself in the raw, unspoiled splendor of the wilderness.
As I continued my journey, the weather continued its unpredictable dance, alternating between sunshine and shadow as the clouds drifted lazily across the sky. It was as if nature itself was putting on a show just for me, revealing its secrets one moment at a time.
Though the road stretched out before me with its twists and turns, I felt a sense of connection to the world around me unlike any other. With each passing kilometer, I found myself drawing closer to Kodai, yet further into the heart of the untamed wilderness.
As I approached the foothills of Kodai, I was greeted by the thunderous roar of the Silver Cascade Waterfalls. The area buzzed with tourist activity, with cars parked haphazardly and vendors selling everything from chai to corn. Amidst the chaos, I couldn't resist stopping to snap a few photos of the majestic falls.
But as I turned my attention back to my bike, I was met with an unexpected sight - a mischievous monkey had taken a keen interest in my belongings, his nimble fingers poised to unzip my tank bag in search of snacks. Caught red-handed, the little rascal quickly feigned innocence, leaving me in stitches at his audacity. Unable to resist his charm, I snapped a selfie with my newfound friend before continuing on my way.
Navigating through the bustling streets of Kodai, I found myself suddenly enveloped in a thick blanket of fog. The once bustling town now resembled a scene from a horror movie, with visibility reduced to mere meters ahead. Undeterred, I pressed on in search of accommodation, eventually settling on a cozy hotel near the famed Kodai Lake.
After a quick freshening up, I ventured out for dinner, the eerie mist adding an extra layer of atmosphere to the evening. It felt as though I had stumbled onto the set of a spooky thriller, with each step shrouded in uncertainty.
As I retired for the night, I couldn't help but chuckle at the day's comedic escapades. Despite the monkey business and foggy fiascos, I knew that tomorrow held the promise of new adventures and laughter-filled memories. For in the unpredictable world of travel, every twist and turn brings with it a new opportunity for hilarity and hijinks. Until tomorrow, may the laughter never cease and the adventures never end.
As I arrived in Thandikudi, also affectionately known as Thandi Kudy, I was greeted by the tantalizing aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Surrounded by quaint coffee shops and sprawling plantations, it was evident that this hidden gem was a haven for coffee lovers like myself.
As I continued my journey towards Kodai, the landscape transformed before my eyes, shrouded in mist and cloaked in the ethereal beauty of nature. The towering trees seemed to form a grand gateway, inviting me to explore the untouched wonders that lay beyond.
Enthralled by the breathtaking scenery, I found myself stopping every few kilometers to capture the essence of this surreal landscape. Each bend in the road revealed a new vista, each moment more enchanting than the last.
Suddenly, I found myself at the entrance to a ghat section, the road winding its way up into the clouds. Unable to resist the allure of the scenic overlook, I halted my motorcycle to capture the beauty of the mist-shrouded mountains.
As I savored the ever-changing weather and the winding roads, I couldn't help but attract curious glances from passing vehicles. But for me, the journey was not just about reaching my destination - it was about immersing myself fully in the beauty of the moment, living each twist and turn of the road with a sense of wonder and joy.
With Kodai now just 40 kilometers away, I felt a renewed sense of excitement coursing through my veins. The road ahead promised more adventures and discoveries, and I couldn't wait to see what wonders awaited me in this enchanting corner of the world. Until next time, may the road continue to lead me on journeys of discovery and delight.
