Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 - A New Urban Thrill

General Discussion
  • Royal Enfield has once again stirred up the motorcycle world with its latest offering, the Guerrilla 450. This new roadster is a bold departure from the classic Enfield image, aiming squarely at the urban rider seeking a blend of style, performance, and affordability.

    A Fresh Platform

Built on the foundation of the acclaimed Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450 undergoes a significant transformation to fit the urban jungle. A reworked chassis lends it a more road-focused character, promising a nimble and agile ride. The weight reduction of 15kgs compared to its adventure sibling is a clear indication of Royal Enfield's intent to create a lighter, quicker motorcycle.

    Key Specifications

    • Price: Expect to shell out approximately ₹2.39 lakh in India for the base model. International pricing is set at £4,850 in the UK and €5,290 in Germany.
    • Engine: The heart of the Guerrilla is the liquid-cooled Sherpa 450 engine, borrowed from the Himalayan. This unit, equipped with ride-by-wire throttle and double overhead camshafts, is expected to deliver a punchy performance.
    • Weight and Dimensions: Tipping the scales at 185 kg, the Guerrilla 450 is notably lighter than its adventure sibling. A shorter wheelbase and lower seat height of 780 mm make it more accessible and maneuverable in city traffic.

    Customization and Variants

Royal Enfield has a knack for offering plenty of options, and the Guerrilla 450 is no exception. A range of factory accessories, including sump guards, flyscreens, and different seat options, allows riders to personalize their bikes.

There are currently three variants available:

    • Analogue: The base model comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster and a single-tone Smoke Silver paint scheme.
    • Dash: Stepping up from the base model, the Dash variant offers additional features and comes in Playa Black and Gold Dip color options.
    • Other Variants: Royal Enfield might introduce more variants or special editions in the future, keeping enthusiasts on their toes.

    Urban-Focused Roadster

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is clearly aimed at the urban rider. With its sharp styling, agile handling, and a focus on comfort, it promises to be a fun and practical choice for navigating city streets. While we eagerly await the opportunity to throw a leg over one, the initial specs suggest a compelling package for those looking for a modern twist on the classic Royal Enfield appeal.

  • Only downside is the tank range. Should have given it at least 13L like hunter(which potentially yields a mileage of 35).

  • I test rode this yesterday.

    Assessment-

    1. Great mid range. Comes alive at about 4000 RPM like the Himi 450.
    2. Braking on point. Confidence inspiring.
    3. Seat height is much more comfortable for me compared to Himi 450. Feet flat this time.
    4. Suspension felt good. Tractable.

    Dislikes

    1. Tank felt really low while sitting on the bike. This is a personal preference. This makes the bike look small in photos like a commuter.
    2. Handlebars need to be elevated if anyone considers this for touring.
    3. Gap between headlight and housing looks really odd. The amount of space might lead to whistling like sounds when on open highways. Might be wrong with the sound bit.
    4. Rode the red and gold one. Too flashy for my taste.
  • this one is a power packed roadster, which looks like a quasi scrambler, although not recommended for Touring, it's a great fun machine for the sprints around town and short rides, hopefully one day R.E thinks of a touring version with a bigger tank and wind screens.
    Downsides

    1. turning radius
    2. Splash protection during wet road conditions.

    Upsides

    1. It'll put a smile on your face every time you twist it open

Joining the IBRMC has truly been a transformative experience for me! Ever since my school days, I’ve always had a passion for riding, but I struggled to get started due to limited contacts and opportunities. It felt like a dream just out of reach. But now, oh what joy!

IBRMC has opened up a whole new world for me. It’s not just about riding; it’s about community.
We ride together, We adda together, swapping stories and laughter that make every ride memorable and we hang out together, forging friendships that go beyond biking—creating bonds that feel like family.

I can’t express how grateful I am to have found this amazing group! The support and camaraderie have reignited my passion for riding in ways I never imagined possible.

Thanks to IBRMC, I'm living my dream every day!
