Riding the Winds of Brotherhood to Spiti and Beyond..
-
23rd Aug to 2nd Sept are the tentative dates chief
-
I might have the complete tools set. I'll looks for it and update. Regarding rental bikes, do we need to carry tube or it will be available?
-
Update on entering Chandra Taal region if entering from Losar ( Kaza side) or Koksar (Manali side).
It is advisable to cross the checkpost as early as possible.
There is no declared specific timing to cross the check post but the earlier it's done better it is as there is no network in that region so the disaster management teams does not allow late entry on that route.
There is no mobile network after crossing the check post and at Chandra taal region entry.
It's better to pre-book your stay at Chandra taal, only camp stays are available.
Few of the camp stays may allow to pitch own tent (on payment basis) and at their discretion only. No personal camping is allowed. -
Awesome writeup Ash. It is actually giving goosebumps and good to see people/discussion back on forum like good old days. There is no 2nd thought that this ride is going to be full of life time memories. All the very best to all the riders.
I'm certain people must be having all the tools with them but let me know if tyre opening tools/rods with adhesives required. Or complete puncture kit required for tube or tubeless bikes.

Taking the discussion on next level now. As discussed in our meeting yesterday (28th July),
The following things need to be arranged accordingly
Rajiv to arrange the following for backup vehicle
20 ltr flat Jerry can for fuel
20 ltr water dispenser bottle
Jumper cable
Mangi to provide a spare tyre for back up vehicle
CP will arrange an extra clutch cable for bike
CP will arrange a 21 inch extra front wheel tube
Johar sir to arrange tyre opener lever
Abbas bhai to take care of pre bookings for few places
Maccha to take care of bike arrangements.Bring it on buoyz, let's discuss things over here.
Broh, today in our meeting, it was analyzed that we do not need any fuel or water carriers with us. So, we dont have to carry them in the backup vehicle. It will be handled.
So with these deletions, your list will have a new item i.e.x pulse clutch cable. So we will be carrying 2 cables for 4 bikes. 1 CP is getting and 1 is f or you to carry.
In addition we have to ensure all riders are carrying bike covers.
-
@instantsharma... noted. Have started arranging all listed items. 18 days to go..
-
as per recent proceedings we are pressing CTRL+Z and carrying fuel jerry can of 20LtsX1 or 2?
Route status updates and prep talks in person will be done at the upcoming weekly meet. And we got our guest house booking confirmed at Katrain. yuhooo.

And Then it happened, a journey where the roar of engines harmonized with the whispers of the Himalayas. Our motorcycle trip to Lahaul and Spiti was not just an adventure; it was a testament to brotherhood……again. We rode through treacherous mountain passes, where every twist and turn tested our mettle. The camaraderie among us was palpable, each rider a pillar of strength for the other. As we ascended to most dangerous roads of Gramphu and Batal and then inched towards the AMS bound Chandertaal on day 1 of riding, climbing through lofty heights of Kunzum Pass….. the air grew thin, but our spirits soared. Nights were spent under a canopy of stars, sharing stories and laughter, the cold mountain air biting at our faces. The stark beauty of Spiti Valley, with its ancient monasteries and serene landscapes, left us in awe. We explored the unexplored, navigated rocky terrains and crossed icy streams, our bonds growing stronger with each challenge. The journey was not just about reaching our destination but about the shared experiences that forged an unbreakable brotherhood. In the end, our bonds intact, our hearts full and our souls enriched by the majestic Himalayas and the unwavering support of our fellow riders. And then its a memory carved in our minds of yet another…..#EkAurMA
