  • Hi folks,

Based on your individual ownership experiences, what would you say are must-have accessories for the Himalayan 450?

Getting one soon, so wanted to get inputs.

    Thanks.

  • Most important accessory is LED lights..The stock light is as good as not being there..

Other than that, basic needs would be
    Crash guard
    Bash plate
    Better RVMs

Other than these basic things, you can play around a lot on the bike depending on your preferences.

@satty Ahh makes sense. Thanks 👍🏽

  • Few Additional stuff from my end

    • Handguards - The stock clutch and brake levers aren't particularly durable and are prone to bending or breaking in the event of a fall. Installing handguards can help protect them effectively.
    • Crash Guard - A reliable crash guard is essential to protect your vehicle during a fall. Unfortunately, stock crash guards often lack effective design and may not provide adequate protection. For enhanced safety and durability, consider checking out AutoEngina’s offerings—they provide robust solutions in this category.
    • Tail Rack - I found the stock accessory from Royal Enfield to be an excellent match for the tail rack. Crafted entirely from stainless steel, it significantly enhances the overall look and feel of the bike. Additionally, it offers extra bungee points, making luggage loading more convenient.
    • Mobile Holder - You'll need to explore alternative options of your choice, as the infotainment cluster doesn't support Google Maps effectively.
    • Saddle Stays - For luggage mounting, it's best to opt for Royal Enfield's saddle stays, as they're specifically designed for a perfect fit. Aftermarket options are often slightly misaligned by a few millimeters, which can make installation time-consuming and frustrating.

@Kaustav Ah actually aligned on all of the above. The crash guard alone, I think I'll have to explore that Auto Engina option instead of the RE one. 👍🏼

Go with Royal Enfield option for Crash Guard because of RE mandate to void warranty if third party are installed.

    Other than that add

    1. Rear Brake Oil reservoir cover. It is plastic and exposed
    2. Master Cylinder Guard - Stock is made of plastic
    3. Adjustable Top Rack from Auto Engina (if no plan to installed Top Box)

If you have extra cash, then go for other feel good accessories

    1. Front Fork Slider
    2. Side Stand Extender
    3. Mirror Extender (Zana)

@TheOne The warranty void bit is a bit of a vague area only. But yeah, I think for starters I'll go with the OEM one itself then.

    But thanks!

Its not Vague. RE has called up people (including me) and informed them about this criteria.
Not sure how serious they were in this threat.
BTW, I have after market Zana CrashGuard

@TheOne Ah okay, didn't know that. I meant, the user manual describes it a little vaguely I felt. Like not able to tell if something like an aftermarket radiator guard would also void warranty? And what's the criteria? Basically not clear on that bit entirely for customers to take a call on what vs what not to install as aftermarket bits.

  • RE takes the warranty seriously and will try every way to escape from warranty clauses.. After-market parts are top of their scrutiny list.. So all major components you put, make sure you go with OEM only

@sajeesh Torque Block is really a good option for picking up tyres. I picked up my Karoo Street from them about 8 months back. Hassle Free experience and they first understand your riding style and need & accordingly suggest the best in the segment tyres for your required purpose.

I recently changed my tyres, front MRF and rear Ralco. Tried many tires, Ralco suited me the best for rear.
