New Himalayan 452 user experience

General Discussion
  • This is about first cut observation after doing 450km with pillion (Wont talk about engine and how smooth the ride due to slipper clutch and zero vibrations, etc.)

    1. Seats - Worst ever. First mod I have done for this bike is to add Imran's seat.
    2. Sitting posture - Would require handle bar riser as I have to stoop while riding which lead to shoulder and wrist pain. High seat setting caused more discomfort. Currently riding on lower setting. But I feel that this should not be a problem for 5.10" and below guys.
    3. Top heavy - Despite that, manuveouring in traffic was a breeze
    4. Side Stand - It's too bent leading to bike leaning a lot more than required. Rider can have difficulties getting a fully loaded bike in upright position.
    5. Headlight - These are no headlights. Sulabh shauchalya bulbs throw more light than these stock LEDs

That's all I can think of now. Getting my first service in fews day. Will post off-roading feedback in couple of weeks.

Note... @TheOne is above 6 fts and posture issue may differ for others

  • New upgrade for my Ghost
She now glides on tubeless tyres. Conversion was done at HDT Customs, Mumbai who took 5 days to complete this task after multiple rounds of sealant curing.
Done 1500kms plus with moderate off-roading. No issues so far.

  • Mine is Only 600 kms done as Abhi bhai mentioned seats are rock hard.
LED Head Light is not at all good. Got it fixed HJG Fog Lights immediately after taking the delivery.
For My height Handle Bar riser is not required as i am very comfortable with the stock handle Bar.
Brakes of the New Himalayan is Amazing.

  • One issue I noticed was that bike handlebar slightly pulls towards right.
Issue was identified due to low quality bush used in steering stem fastener.
Apparently it is a known issue which RE guys are quitely replacing, as and when they receive this complaint.
They didn't charge me for replaced part and I didn't ask.
Just took test ride back home.

  • Guys,, Received a call from RE that warranty is void if you have installed after market crash guard. KP too have received this call.

  • @TheOne Crash Guard sey warranty void ???? Kaise ???

  • Got to know that few Himalayan had front chasis crack which which RE is trying to pass on the blame on aftermarket crash guards fitting. Rather than accepting their own quality they are trying to deviate somehow.

  • At this point only saving grace is if RE provides a factory fitted crash guard.

  • Sab kuch RE ka hi lagwalo kehne ka matlab. I too came to know from few of my friends that they are receiving the calls for after market carsh guard installations. Dandha hai

  • Is RE saying that crash guard should be mandatorily fitted? If not, then while claiming warranty, remove the aftermarket crash guard and claim warranty.

  • Check this out. Even factory fitted crash guards are popping out. Not sure if it is bcz of loose fitting. Also how come this may cause chasis break? Any clue??

  • Point where the crash guard is fixed is the same point where Engine is bolted to the chassis. So incase of crash this point probably takes the brunt and hence possibilities of chassis getting damaged.

In her case, aftermarket nut used probably were not of good grade. Also her crash guard do not seem to be genuine as RE OGs do no have sliders on them.

    I test rode this yesterday.

    Assessment-

Great mid range. Comes alive at about 4000 RPM like the Himi 450. Braking on point. Confidence inspiring. Seat height is much more comfortable for me compared to Himi 450. Feet flat this time. Suspension felt good. Tractable.

    Dislikes

Tank felt really low while sitting on the bike. This is a personal preference. This makes the bike look small in photos like a commuter. Handlebars need to be elevated if anyone considers this for touring. Gap between headlight and housing looks really odd. The amount of space might lead to whistling like sounds when on open highways. Might be wrong with the sound bit. Rode the red and gold one. Too flashy for my taste.

    @DJ - rightly said

This is what IBR (India Bull Riders) calls an “Endurance ride”. Why “endurance” well the stats speak for themselves.

If you wish and permit, can this be moved to the blog section with full write up copied/pasted and backlink to your blog site?

PS: that youtube video you'd posted got copyrighted music.... as soon that video picksup, you will start getting strikes 😭

IBRMC ne kya Diya hai, yahi sawaal hai na bhailog....

Bachpan me addabaazi maarne me maza aata tha... College gaye to kuch aur baklol dost mile, aur maza aane laga.... Waqt yuhi guzar jata tha... Sab acha chal raha tha khushi khushi.....

Fir ek din job ka darshan hua.... Achanak se har jagah manhus log dikhne lage, koi khul k hase na, khul k bakchodi na karein.... mano Aisa laga ki acha samay chala gaya.... Kaam kaam and no aaram wali zindagi dekhne ko mila.... Tab the ek aada baklol par sab apne zindagi k jhol mein phase hue... Kabhi addabaazi hoti kabhi nahi hoti... Guzar gaye aise kuch saal....

Fir apna din aagaya and Google mein meine IBRMC ko paya .... Join Kiye rides and meine samjha bhailog... Yaha to baklol ki fauj hai and woh bhi 24x7 ....

Bus fir kya, saare wadiyan ghoome just like a free bird, fir se woh bachpan k din wapis aaya.... Ab to baklol zindagi ki kahani chalu hai bheedu with a title "bachpan se pachpan tak"

IBRMC has given a life where we can feel and be ourselves, no one is gonna judge us on the same.
    Hail IBR !!!
